A London studio for the written line.

Darya Studio was founded to bring Persian art and culture into the spaces that shape daily life — homes, hotels, offices, and the rooms in between. Our name, Darya, means "sea" in Persian: a reference to depth, movement, and the idea that heritage is not fixed, but something that keeps flowing into new forms.

Persian visual culture has a long, layered history — in calligraphy and manuscript illumination, in miniature painting, in poetry inscribed on architecture and textiles. We work with artists who carry that inheritance forward, whether through the written line, figurative and abstract painting, or contemporary mixed media that reinterprets traditional motifs.

Calligraphy remains central to what we do — Persian and Arabic script has always been treated as high art in its own right — but it is one expression of a wider artistic tradition, not the limit of it. Our collections also include paintings, works on paper, and mixed-media pieces that draw on Persian symbolism, colour, and craft.

We are committed to representing underrepresented artists, with particular attention to voices connected to Persian and wider Middle Eastern heritage who have had limited platforms internationally. By placing their work in commercial and residential interiors, we give it both visibility and purpose.

Every collection is thoughtfully assembled for private residences, boutique hotels, cultural institutions, and architecturally significant interiors. We collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, developers, and private collectors — integrating art from the earliest stages of a project so each piece feels intrinsic to the space, not added to it.

For us, art is a way of keeping heritage alive in conversation with the present — connecting people to a culture, a story, and a craft that deserves to be seen.
