Eos
by Sanaz Hassannezhad
Eos is an ambient light installation designed for galleries and exhibition spaces. Inspired by the first light of dawn, it transforms light, air, and fabric into a sculptural experience that feels alive. Rather than functioning as a lamp, Eos acts as an environment an artwork that breathes, reacts, and surrounds its audience with shifting light and motion. At its core, Eos is built like a branching tree form. A powder-coated steel base anchors the piece, while copper and bronze rods extend upward and outward, carrying clusters of soft silicone diffusers. Each diffuser houses an LED node, glowing with warm white light. Around the branches, translucent recycled organza fabric is draped over a lightweight PETG rib structure, forming cloud-like veils that catch and scatter the light. Hidden silent micro-fans gently move the fabric, so the sculpture always appears to be in motion, as if alive. The LEDs are fully addressable, allowing dynamic light patterns. The system includes different modes: Breath Mod: the entire sculpture glows in a slow rhythm, imitating natural breathing.
